The Texas Rangers finally honored this World Series hero with his championship ring. Although Mitch Garver no longer plays for the team, he remains cherished by Rangers fans.
- During his brief two-season stint with Texas, Garver played a pivotal role in securing the club’s first-ever World Series title in 2023. Despite moving on to join the Seattle Mariners in the offseason, his significant contributions to the Rangers’ success last season are undeniable.
As the Mariners visited for a three-game series this week, the Rangers took the opportunity to present Garver with his well-deserved World Series ring in a short pregame ceremony before Tuesday night’s series opener at Globe Life Field.
At 33 years old, Garver impressed with 19 home runs and 50 RBIs in just 87 regular season games for Texas last year. He showcased a batting average of .270/.370/.500 while primarily serving as designated hitter, occasionally stepping in behind the plate and at first base as well.
Garver’s power hitting continued into the playoffs, where he recorded three home runs, two doubles, and 15 RBIs in 14 games. He played a significant role in the Rangers’ ALDS victory over the Baltimore Orioles, delivering four hits and seven RBIs across Games 2 and 3 as Texas completed a three-game sweep.
Although his performance cooled off slightly afterward, Garver still made crucial contributions, including an RBI single in Game 2 of the ALCS and an impressive showing in Game 6.
In the Fall Classic against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Garver left his mark with a home run in Game 2 and a pivotal RBI single in Game 5, which helped secure the series-clinching victory for the Rangers.
Given his remarkable achievements, it’s fitting that Garver finally received his championship ring, a well-deserved acknowledgment of his invaluable role in the team’s success.
