Ronan Chambers, hailing from the vicinity of Cleveland, has been entrenched in the role of an offensive lineman since his freshman year in high school. Finishing his high school career weighing around 270 pounds, he committed to the Akron Zips and assumed a starting position last season. Now, he’s embarking on the next phase of his journey, having recently inked a deal with the Auburn Tigers following a successful official visit. Standing tall at 6-6 and weighing 305 pounds, Chambers sees the challenge of competing in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and vying for playing time as an irresistible opportunity.
“I’d been in contact with Auburn for a few weeks,” Chambers tells Auburnundercover.com. “I visited last weekend and got a thorough tour of the campus and facilities. The presentation and discussions about the program were compelling. The idea of playing in the SEC against top-notch opponents every week is really exciting. It pumped me up. Ultimately, I felt it was the right move for me.”
“He’s a significant addition to a Miami backfield that, while statistically efficient last season, lacked a standout featured runner,” Kenyon wrote. “Bringing in a player of Martinez’s caliber was an obvious choice, but the ‘Canes needed a spark at the position regardless. Donald Chaney Jr. departed in the winter, and leading rusher Henry Parrish Jr. entered the transfer portal in April.”
