JUST IN: BYU confirm a blockbuster deal of 2 key player from their rival

Sources inform me that BYU basketball has scheduled two recruiting visits. Maxim Logue, a French center, is expected to arrive in Utah on Sunday night for a visit on Monday. Additionally, Berke Buyuktuncel, a transfer from UCLA, is scheduled to arrive on Monday night for his visit.

Buyuktuncel, a 6-foot-9 forward from Turkey, faced injury setbacks during his freshman year at UCLA. Despite this, he showcased glimpses of his NBA potential by starting in 8 out of 26 games and averaging 4.5 points and 2.5 rebounds. Known for his ability to handle the ball and shoot the three, he has been likened to a modern-day Toni Kukoc by some industry insiders. ESPN’s latest 2025 NBA mock draft predicts him to be selected 42nd overall. Rated as a 4-star recruit in the 2023 class, Buyuktuncel impressed in international competitions before joining UCLA.

He possesses the versatility to play both the power forward and small forward positions, though his defensive strengths may align better with the power forward role in a high-level league. With BYU potentially losing players before the transfer portal deadline, Buyuktuncel could secure significant playing time and even start at power forward. Nebraska is also on his visit list, with BYU and Nebraska emerging as favorites. He has received guidance from former BYU player Elijah Bryant, who has competed against him in Turkey.

On the other hand, Logue, an 18-year-old French prospect standing at 6-foot-9, showcases elite athleticism. While he plays both power forward and center in international competitions, he is expected to primarily play as a center at the college level. Projected as a rim-runner on offense and a rim protector on defense, Logue offers depth to BYU’s roster and potential for development throughout his college career. Currently visiting Creighton, Logue may not be the top priority on BYU’s recruitment list, but his athleticism suggests he could evolve into a strong collegiate player. These insights, along with Logue’s highlights, underscore his promising potential.
