Virginia Tech lands Commitment of top experienced superstar From rival

Virginia Tech recently utilized its last available scholarship slot to recruit Kaleb Spencer, a linebacker/defensive back transfer from Miami. Spencer, currently a sophomore with three more years of eligibility, revealed his commitment on Saturday.

Originally hailing from Gloucester, Virginia, Spencer attended Life Christian Academy for high school, where he garnered a three-star rating in the 2023 class and was ranked as the 673rd best player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

During his freshman year at Miami, Spencer participated in 11 games primarily contributing on special teams, tallying one tackle. It is anticipated that he will bolster Virginia Tech’s secondary, fulfilling the team’s need for an additional safety option with versatility akin to Derrick Canteen, who played for the Hokies last season.
