The prolific star is originally from Stockholm, Sweden, and previously attending Danderyds Gymnasium, has committed to playing soccer at Syracuse University, as announced by Coach Nicky Thrasher Adams.
During her freshman year at Gardner-Webb, Coval showcased her skills, starting 12 out of 17 matches. Notably, she contributed two goals and an assist in Gardner-Webb’s impressive 7-0 victory against South Carolina State. Throughout the season, Coval demonstrated her endurance by playing the full 90 minutes in games against High Point and Radford, accumulating over 1,000 minutes on the field. Despite the team’s overall record of 4-12-2 in the previous fall, Coval’s performance stood out.
Before her time in the U.S., Coval excelled in her native Sweden. She earned the prestigious Idrottsskölden award in 2022, recognizing her as one of the most promising athletes. Additionally, she played for AIK, a top-tier club competing in Allsvenskan, Sweden’s highest football league, where she was also honored with a captain’s award.
Coval is one of five transfer students who have signed National Letters-of-Intent to join Syracuse, along with Blythe Braun, Cierra Collins, Julia Dening, Mia Klammer, and Dalani Stephens. Notably, all except Stephens began their enrollment in January.
In addition to these transfers, Syracuse welcomed nine freshmen who signed National Letters-of-Intent in November: Anna Croyle, Caitlin Driscoll, Allie Fouts, Amanda Goldstein, Lilly Heaslet, Leda Naihin, Vita Naihin, Iba Oching, and Gabby Wisbeck.
