Nick Mingione, the head coach of Kentucky baseball, has been awarded the Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year accolade for the second time during his tenure, previously claiming it in 2017.
Under Mingione’s leadership, the Wildcats clinched the SEC East title for only the second time in the school’s history, concluding the season with an impressive 39-12 record, notably standing at 22-8 in the SEC. Despite sharing the SEC East title with Tennessee, Kentucky will begin the SEC Tournament as the No. 3 seed.
Their inaugural tournament match will be against the victor of the Georgia-LSU matchup at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday in Hoover, Ala. Moreover, Nick Lopez was honored with First-Team All-SEC recognition, while Ryan Waldschmidt secured a spot on the second team.
Mitchell Daly, Mason Moore, and Emilien Pitre were named to the All-SEC Defensive Team.
