The star that came: Auburn Lands a blockbuster commitment of a prolific star to bolster their corps of players

Today’s Auburn Tigers News highlights Bruce Pearl’s pursuit of another transfer for the basketball team and Auburn football’s offer to Chris Davis’ son.

Bruce Pearl, the head coach of Auburn basketball, is actively seeking another transfer to bolster his team for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Following recent transfers and departures, including Aden Holloway, Tre Donaldson, and KD Johnson leaving, alongside Lior Berman and Jaylin Williams, Pearl aims to strengthen his squad.

Despite the addition of freshmen Tahaad Pettiford and Jahki Howard, as well as transfers JP Pegues and Ja’Heim Hudson, Pearl is determined to secure one more impactful guard. He emphasized the versatility needed, indicating that the specific position isn’t crucial.

Earlier this week, the Auburn football program extended an offer to Davis’ son, Chris ‘CJ’ Davis, a running back in the recruiting class of 2028. This fall he will begin his freshman campaign at Hewett-Trussville in Alabama.

In a separate development, Auburn football extends an offer to Chris ‘CJ’ Davis, the son of former Auburn player Chris Davis. Chris Davis Sr. famously secured Auburn’s victory in the 2013 Iron Bowl with his 109-yard return, known as The Kick Six.

The younger Davis, set to begin his freshman year at Hewett-Trussville in Alabama, received previous offers from UCF, Florida State, and Arkansas, among others, prior to Auburn’s offer.
