Another Devoted 3-star QB sensational player set to lands a top blockbuster commitmenet

Syracuse football’s top priority recruit for 2025, Quentin Murphy, recently announced on his X page that he intends to announce his college decision on June 1. The high three-star quarterback/athlete from Arkansas received a scholarship offer from Syracuse’s coaching staff in early January. Standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 205 pounds, Murphy visited Syracuse in April after naming them, along with Georgia Tech and Arkansas, as his top three choices in March.

According to 247Sports analyst Mike McAllister, the entire coaching staff of Syracuse was expected to visit Murphy, who attends Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School in Little Rock, Ark.

There has been notable buzz surrounding Syracuse football’s recruitment of Murphy on various recruiting websites. However, as Murphy’s commitment announcement approaches, another suitor has gained momentum, particularly within the SEC.

Recent predictions by top analysts on the On3 website have favored Arkansas, with analysts like Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfong tipping the Razorbacks as the likely choice for Murphy. While these predictions aren’t infallible, they suggest a challenging situation for Syracuse football.

Despite some earlier optimism, recent indicators seem to point away from Syracuse. Mike McAllister, a highly regarded recruiting analyst covering Syracuse sports, had previously predicted Murphy’s favor toward Syracuse, but the recent shift in buzz raises doubts. Regardless, Murphy’s decision will be revealed on June 1.

Murphy is considered a top-500 national prospect for the 2025 cycle according to both the 247Sports Composite and the On3 Industry Ranking. ESPN ranks him as the seventh-best dual-threat quarterback nationally among rising high school seniors. Syracuse has secured commitments from at least 19 players for its 2025 class, currently ranked 11th overall by the 247Sports Composite and seventh nationwide by Rivals.com.

In late March, Syracuse football received a commitment from four-star quarterback Luke Carney from Dallas Christian School in Mesquite, Texas. Additionally, four-star quarterback Malik Washington from Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Md., is scheduled to visit Syracuse next month.
