Coppell, Texas native Edward Griffin announced his commitment to Baylor on Saturday, picking the Bears over several other schools.
Griffin, a three-star quarterback, had been in talks with offensive coordinator Jake Spavital since May 10th and visited Waco on Thursday before finalizing hips decision.
He expressed excitement about the program and his fit in the offense, emphasizing his accuracy as a strength. Griffin also highlighted his positive interactions with head coach Dave Aranda, who played a significant role in his decision.
He sees himself as a good fit both in terms of football strategy and team culture. Griffin plans to actively recruit other top prospects to join him at Baylor.
His commitment comes after receiving a strong rating from 247Sports, which praised his accuracy and overall performance as a quarterback.
