The Virginia Tech Hokies have five commitments in their 2025 recruiting class, led by four-star linebacker Brett Clatterbaugh. Four of Virginia Tech’s five commitments come from the state of Virginia, with only quarterback Kelden Ryan (Texas) coming from outside the state.
Could the Hokies be closing in on another Virginia native for the 2025 class?
Deuce Edwards, a three-star cornerback from Trinity Episcopal in Richmond, disclosed his top three choices on Wednesday, with Virginia Tech securing a spot among them. Alongside the Hokies, Edwards listed West Virginia and Michigan State as his other finalists.
Standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 180 pounds, Edwards has received 25 offers, showcasing an impressive array of options that includes Clemson, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida State, Penn State, and Michigan.
He intends to announce his decision on June 22.
June typically marks a significant period for college football recruiting, with teams like the Hokies maximizing the offseason lull to host numerous visitors, including official visits. Virginia Tech’s successful 2024 class had a strong start with a productive June last year.
