Beavers Confirmed Commitment of a Prolific Star Player, to Bolster Their Corps of Players

Oregon State, led by coach Scott Rueck, expanded its international roster with the signing of Danish center Elisa Mehyar. Mehyar brings with her experience from playing with SISU Copenhagen and representing Denmark’s U18 team at the 2022 European Championships. She will join the Beavers as a true freshman for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Coach Rueck praised Mehyar’s defensive prowess, agility, and scoring abilities, expressing excitement for her fit within the team’s culture. Mehyar herself cited Oregon State’s welcoming atmosphere and the opportunity for personal and basketball growth as reasons for her choice.

In her previous outings, Mehyar showcased her rebounding skills, averaging 6.9 rebounds per game in limited minutes for the Danish U18 team. She also demonstrated shot-blocking ability, notably recording five rejections in a game against Romania. Additionally, her contributions off the bench for SISU Copenhagen included solid rebounding and shot-blocking stats.

Mehyar’s signing marks the third addition to Oregon State’s roster for the 2024-25 season, following a tradition of successful European centers at the university, including Marie Gulich, Jelena Mitrovic, and Joanna Grymek.
