Auburn Transfer Land Commitment of a Prolific 4-star Player From Another Team

Auburn, Alabama—Emaree Winston, a 4-star tight end committed to Texas from Cahoun, Georgia, hadn’t visited Auburn since his time as an 8th grader attending Tigers’ camp. However, this past weekend marked his return to the Plains for an official visit to explore Hugh Freeze’s program, leaving him impressed with what he encountered.

Despite his commitment to the Longhorns, Winston acknowledged that Auburn made a significant impression, hinting at a potential return.

Reflecting on his recent interactions with Auburn, Winston explained, “Considering that I hadn’t talked to them and just starting talking to them when coach Ben (Aigamaua) came to my spring practice, I had shut my recruitment down.” He emphasized Auburn’s proactive approach, noting increased

communication and a personal touch, such as receiving daily Bible verses, which resonated with him and his family. Winston expressed admiration for Coach Ben’s coaching style and rapport with players, fostering a strong bond.

During his visit, Winston appreciated the opportunity to engage with coaches, explore the campus, and delve deeper into the program. He was particularly intrigued by Auburn’s emphasis on utilizing tight ends in their offensive schemes, citing standout performances like that of Rivaldo Fairweather from the previous season.
