Huskies Transfer Lands Commitment Of a Sensational Star With Another Team

On Wednesday, five-star prospect Brynn McGaughy, a 6-foot-3 junior forward at Colfax High, committed to the Washington women’s basketball program.

McGaughy, ranked No. 17 nationally among 2025 prospects by ESPN, picked Wisconsin over UCLA, Iowa, Duke, and Utah.

She paid an official visit to North Carolina in February, and her list of 12 candidates included Oregon, USC, Connecticut, Tennessee, Indiana, and Florida.

“I think the main thing for me was the culture and people there,” McGaughy said to 247Sports. “Their goal for me is excellent, and the effect I can make when I arrive for my freshman year will be tremendous. I fit in incredibly well, and they make me feel like family.”

McGaughy, a sophomore, led Colfax, a tiny town near Pullman.
