Kentucky Set to Commit With Younger Brother of Kentucky Special Devoted Player

Another member of the Herro family is stepping onto the college basketball scene. Initially, there was Tyler, a standout guard for the 2018-19 Kentucky men’s basketball team who made a swift transition to the NBA after his lone college season. Tyler’s achievements include being named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year in 2022 and securing a lucrative contract extension.

Following Tyler’s path, Austin, a guard who joined South Carolina as a preferred walk-on, recently completed a redshirt season with the Gamecocks. Now, the spotlight turns to Myles Herro, the youngest of the Herro brothers, as he gears up for his senior year at Whitnall High School in Milwaukee.

Although Myles is currently not highly ranked, his performance on the AAU circuit with Team Herro has been impressive. Despite not putting up high scoring numbers like his older brother Tyler, Myles has showcased his skills as a talented point guard, earning recognition and attracting attention from college scouts. His father, Chris Herro, who coaches Team Herro, believes Myles is finally receiving the recognition he deserves after years of hard work.

While Myles is paving his own path in basketball, both he and Austin have had to navigate the challenges of living up to the expectations set by their NBA star brother. Chris emphasizes the importance of each son embracing their individual talents and identities on the court. Tyler excelled at scoring, Myles demonstrated exceptional ball-handling skills from a young age, and Austin showed prowess in defense and shooting.

As Myles enters the college recruitment process, he hopes to be valued for his unique abilities and not just compared to his brother Tyler. Chris encourages his sons to enjoy the journey and remain true to themselves amidst the pressures of expectations. With Myles being the last of his sons to go through this process, Chris cherishes every moment, knowing that his time coaching his own son will soon come to an end.
