Bills Eight-time Pro Veteran Reveals Texted Message Of Another Experienced Star

Olympic competitor Gable Steveson is approaching his opportunity with the Buffalo Bills with seriousness. Steveson has found a valuable mentor to guide him as he ventures into the NFL.

The Bills caused a stir recently by securing Steveson on a standard rookie contract spanning three years. Despite being one of the most accomplished college wrestlers in NCAA history and clinching the Olympic gold in 2020, Steveson lacks prior football experience.

Veteran Bills player Von Miller disclosed to the press that Steveson promptly reached out to him once the signing was official.

“His locker is adjacent to mine,” Miller shared, as reported by Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. “Right after we signed him, he texted me, saying, ‘I’m sticking close to you; my locker is right beside

yours.’ I replied, ‘Alright, sounds good.’ But it really hit me later when we were conversing, and I realized he’s just getting started in football, learning basics that we mastered in our childhood. He’s on a fast-track learning curve, which he’s fully capable of handling.”

Miller also mentioned conducting a grappling session with Steveson upon the latter’s arrival at the Bills’ facility, immediately recognizing the wrestler’s remarkable athleticism.

Miller, a three-time All-Pro linebacker and Super Bowl champion, hasn’t lived up to expectations with the Bills since joining in 2022. Nevertheless, few players are better equipped than Miller to assist Steveson in adapting to the sport.

Steveson parted ways with WWE last month and swiftly attracted attention from multiple NFL teams. He reportedly opted for the Bills because he believes they offer the best environment for his development as a viable NFL defensive lineman.
