Syracuse To Land Another Great Commitment of a Devoted Star

Kiyan Anthony, a highly sought-after four-star shooting guard from New York City and a top priority recruit for Syracuse basketball in 2025, currently holds approximately 20 high-major scholarship offers as he navigates through his recruiting process.

Recent media reports and social media posts from national recruiting analysts suggest that Anthony is garnering interest from several new suitors. Standing at 6-foot-5, Anthony, who is ranked as high as No. 29 nationally in the rising high school senior class by On3, has expressed his intention to explore additional campus visits in the coming months, including a return trip to Syracuse.

A recent post by On3 national reporter Joe Tipton indicates that Anthony is considering potential visits to Auburn, Ohio State, and Indiana, with the Hoosiers and Tigers showing particular interest. This marks the first mention of Ohio State displaying interest in Anthony, the son of Syracuse basketball legend and NBA star Carmelo Anthony.

Despite the growing interest from other schools, Syracuse basketball seems to be in a strong position with Anthony. Last month, reports suggested that Anthony could revisit Syracuse and Florida State, along with potential visits to schools such as Arizona State, Indiana, Tennessee, and Auburn.

The Syracuse coaching staff extended a scholarship offer to Anthony in November 2022, and he has already taken an official visit to the campus. Anthony has also officially visited Florida State.

Anthony’s performances with the 17U squad of Team Melo in Nike’s EYBL league this spring have drawn attention from numerous national analysts and scouts. He has played alongside fellow 2025 four-star recruit Tyler Jackson, a point guard who holds an offer from Syracuse and visited the campus earlier this year.

During a recent EYBL session in Indianapolis, which coincided with an NCAA live period, the Syracuse coaching staff attended at least two of Team Melo’s games, indicating their continued interest in Anthony

As a rising senior at Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., Anthony could soon narrow down his list of collegiate contenders. Reports suggest that he may announce his commitment in November or December of this year.

Both the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking currently place Anthony in the top 40 nationwide for the 2025 class, among the top eight shooting guards, and as the No. 1 prospect from New York state.
