Another Top Devoted Star Set to Land Commitment With Baylor

Less than a day after leaving Waco following his official visit to Baylor, Chase Collier, a three-star wide receiver from The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, declared his commitment to the Bears. This decision marks Baylor’s addition of a second receiver and ninth prospect to their 2025 recruiting class.

Collier, who had planned official visits to both Kansas and Michigan State for the remainder of the month, told BearsIllustrated that his recruitment is now shut down and he plans to cease talks with all other schools.

“It was the love and the genuine feeling that I had since the moment I stepped off the airplane,” Collier said. “As soon as we got to the hotel, it was nothing but love from coach [Dallas] Baker and throughout the weekend, it just kept building. Being there a couple days, it already almost felt as if I was home.”

In a previous conversation, Collier said that his relCollier said that his relationship with Baker began before the Bears offered him on May 28th, when the two spoke about the similarities in their background, as both hail from Florida.

Over the weekend, Collier revealed that his discussions with Baker went deeper, focusing on Baylor’s plans for him and strengthening his trust in Baker’s leadership, which ultimately influenced his decision.

Just before leaving Waco, Collier met with assistant wide receivers coach CJ Germany to commit to the team. He described feeling overwhelmed by the support and warmth he received from Germany and others, expressing his excitement to join the team.

Based on his conversations with his player host, Jonah Burton, Collier sensed a strong bond among Baylor’s receivers, emphasizing the familial atmosphere fostered by coaches Baker, Aranda, and CJ.

Throughout the weekend, Baylor highlighted the program’s family-oriented culture through various team events. Collier particularly enjoyed a seafood boil, not just for the food but for the sense of unity and genuine connection it fostered among everyone present.

With his commitment to Baylor, Collier concludes his recruitment journey and assures Bears fans of his readiness to contribute and work hard for the team.
