Another Top Talented WR Lands commitment to Texas Tech.

2025 WR Bryson Jones announced his commitment to Texas Tech on Monday following his official visit to campus.

In a recent announcement, Bryson Jones, a highly-regarded four-star receiver, revealed his commitment to Texas Tech University for the 2025 season. Hailing from Frisco, Texas, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound athlete made his decision after a visit to the campus over the weekend. Despite interest from numerous other schools such as Arkansas, Baylor, and Michigan State, Jones ultimately opted for the Red Raiders.

According to 247Sports, Jones is ranked as a three-star recruit and holds the position of the 43rd best receiver nationally, with an overall ranking of 54 in Texas for the 2025 recruitment cycle. However, the 247Sports Composite, which averages rankings from various recruiting services, rates him as a four-star prospect, placing him at 378 overall in the nation, 58th in receivers, and 60th in Texas. His impressive performance on the field last season at Frisco Lone Star High School, where he amassed 1,092 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns from 64 receptions, further solidified his status.

Jones, who also excels in track with notable times of 11.56 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 23.11 seconds in the 200-meter dash recorded in February 2024, brings versatility to the team. His commitment marks the 14th addition to Texas Tech’s 2025 recruiting class, currently ranked 19th nationally and third in the Big 12.

Coach Joey McGuire provided insight into the team’s recruitment strategy, indicating a focus on balancing youth and experience within the roster. With plans to recruit between 18 and 20 high school players for the 2025 class, McGuire emphasizes the importance of cultivating a well-rounded team with a mix of seasoned players and emerging talent, particularly emphasizing the development of linemen for optimal performance.
