The Badgers may be on the verge of securing a commitment from highly-regarded linebacker Mason Posa.
The Wisconsin football squad welcomed highly-touted linebacker Mason Posa from Albuquerque, NM, during their extensive recruiting event held on June 1-2. This weekend saw the addition of several new recruits, notably 4-star offensive lineman Logan Powell and 3-star cornerback Rukeem Stroud.
Wisconsin eagerly anticipates further success from this event, with their sights set on securing a commitment from Posa. His decision is scheduled to be announced on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM Central Time.
Following his visit with the Wisconsin football program, the atmosphere appeared notably positive, signaling a potential shift towards the Badgers. Currently, two crystal ball predictions on 247Sports favor Wisconsin, although they originate from Badger247 experts Nick Osen and Evan Flood. Nevertheless, the absence of predictions for Oregon or Texas A&M, his other final contenders, may bolster confidence among Wisconsin fans.
Posa recently concluded an official visit to Oregon and is scheduled for another to Texas A&M on June 21st. Given his commitment announcement preceding his visit to College Station, it’s likely that his decision will boil down to Wisconsin and Oregon.

According to the 247Sports composite, Posa ranks as the 224th overall prospect nationally, the 27th among linebackers, and holds the top spot among prospects in New Mexico. His commitment would maintain Wisconsin’s position at 13th in the national recruiting class rankings, while narrowing the gap with Rutgers for the 12th spot. Moreover, he would supersede Logan Powell as the Badgers’ highest-rated recruit according to 247Sports’ Top247 rankings.
