Josh Allen secures a spot on Prisco’s list of the top 100 corps of players.

There will never be an NFL player ranking that doesn’t come with fan discontent and disagreement. And this one is no different.

I enjoy debating NFL player rankings during the offseason, and it’s always fascinating how passionate fans, including myself, can get about them. That’s why Pete Prisco’s recent article on CBSSports.com caught my attention. In his latest piece, he not only ranked the NFL’s top 100 players but also included another 50 as honorable mentions. Surprisingly, out of 150 players mentioned, only two are from the Buffalo Bills. Predictably, Josh Allen secured a place in Prisco’s top 100, landing impressively at number six.

“He led the NFL in total yards and touchdowns (44) when combining his passing and rushing touchdowns, yet the perception was he didn’t play well. Yes, he turns the ball over too much, but he was a legitimate MVP candidate last year and will be again this season. (Last season: No. 2)”

Patrick Mahomes Says He Regrets Josh Allen Interaction After Chiefs Loss

Among the quarterbacks on Prisco’s list, Allen was ranked second, just behind Patrick Mahomes, who claimed the top spot. This ranking seems fair, especially considering Prisco’s acknowledgment of Allen’s turnovers while still recognizing him as a strong MVP contender. It’s true that turnovers often dominate discussions about Allen, overshadowing his numerous other accomplishments. Looking ahead, there’s optimism that Allen could elevate his game further in the upcoming season and he will definitely be ranked first considering his consistency, potentially reducing turnovers while maintaining his remarkable touchdown production, even with a revamped supporting cast.

As for the honorable mentions, Matt Milano was named one of the 50, which surprises me a little given he didn’t play much due to the injury that ended his season just five weeks into the year. What also is surprising, is not seeing tight end Dalton Kincaid anywhere on the list, either in the top 100 or under the honorable mentions. Of course, Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta is there at number 58, I previously compared him to Kincaid and found there to be little difference. For LaPorta to be ranked 58, and Kincaid nowhere listed, is a shame.
