Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry picked up a sixth in-state commitment in Class of 2025 Thursday when a talented defensive lineman committed to the Hokies.
Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry continues to secure commitments from in-state recruits. On Thursday morning, Pry, in his third year as coach, added another recruit to the Class of 2025, bringing the total to seven commitments. Five of these recruits hail from Virginia. The latest addition is Christian Evans, a three-star defensive end from Ashburn, Va., who had been a target for Virginia Tech for some time. Evans announced his commitment to the Hokies shortly after a 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction favored Virginia Tech. Despite interest from North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Virginia, Evans chose Virginia Tech, canceling a planned visit to Oklahoma and making his decision shortly after an official visit to Blacksburg.

Evans, a sizable athlete standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 280 pounds, has committed to Virginia Tech along with DeSoto, Texas quarterback Kelden Ryan and several in-state prospects: linebacker Brett Clatterbaugh, wide receiver Jayden Anderson, cornerback Knahlij Harrell, offensive lineman Carter Stallard, and recently, cornerback Sheldon Robinson.
Ranked as the 22nd-best player in Virginia, Evans is among the 15 recruits visiting Blacksburg this weekend, marking a crucial recruiting period for head coach Brent Pry. Evans expressed his intent to use this weekend to recruit other potential teammates, including running back Jeffery Overton, defensive end Jaquavious Dodd, and safety Cole Woodson, according to comments he made to 247Sports.
