Kansas State Bolster 2024 roster with the signing of another standout player

The talented defender from Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep will play his college ball for the Kansas State Wildcats.

Three-star linebacker Dominic Mitchell has made his college decision, opting to join Kansas State after a successful official visit to campus last weekend. The talented prospect from Phoenix’s Brophy Prep announced his commitment on Wednesday, selecting the Big 12 program over eight other scholarship offers.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 200 pounds, Mitchell, considered one of Arizona’s top defensive talents for the 2025 class, made his choice before his senior year began.

“I visited Kansas State this past weekend with a lot of questions, and when I left, I had all those questions answered and I knew this was the place for me,” Mitchell explained to 247Sports. “I chose Kansas State because of the culture surrounding football, family, brotherhood, and life as a whole. I wanted a coaching staff that believed in me and could develop me, and I know the K-State staff can do both. They make me feel like family and that I belong.”

Mitchell, ranked as the nation’s 195th linebacker and the 31st overall prospect in Arizona for the 2025 class by 247Sports, had a productive junior season with 72 total tackles, including 5 1/2 for a loss.

Is K-State close to securing Dominic Mitchell after visit?

“I’m incredibly excited to join coach Joe Klanderman’s defense,” Mitchell added. “He’s an excellent teacher with deep knowledge of the game. I believe the defensive scheme suits my abilities, and my versatility will allow me to contribute effectively at either the jack or strong safety position. I can’t wait to get started.”

With Mitchell’s commitment, Kansas State now boasts double-digit commitments for its 2025 recruiting class. Stay tuned to 247Sports for ongoing updates and analysis as recruiting season continues.
