Brother of standout Bills star commits to Buffalo

High school cornerback Jonathan Rousseau, the brother of Buffalo Bills defensive end Gregory Rousseau, has committed to the University at Buffalo.

A reunion of the Rousseau family is unfolding in Western New York. Jonathan Rousseau, a cornerback from Cardinal Gibbons High School and the younger brother of Buffalo Bills star defensive end Greg Rousseau, has committed to the University at Buffalo. This decision sets the stage for him to join his sibling in the City of Good Neighbors. Jonathan announced his commitment via his social media account on Monday morning.

UB extended a scholarship offer to Jonathan in late May, with interest from other schools including Michigan State, Western Michigan, and the University of Ohio, as noted on his social media.

The Rousseau family is no stranger to success in Western New York, where Greg has made a significant impact since being drafted by the Bills as the 30th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Initially considered a high-risk, high-reward edge defender, Greg has steadily progressed in his professional career, excelling in run defense and demonstrating increasing prowess as a pass rusher. In 2023, he achieved a career-high 62 quarterback pressures, according to PFF. Buffalo recently exercised the fifth-year option on Greg’s rookie contract, positioning him for a potential contract extension.

With Greg’s name frequently announced at Highmark Stadium, fans can expect to hear the Rousseau name echoing at UB Stadium in the near future.
