Texas Tech added to their 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of three-star offensive lineman Elias Gillen, who announced his decision via social media following an official visit over the weekend. Hailing from Rapid City, South Dakota, Gillen stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 295 pounds. He opted for Texas Tech over reported offers from Akron and Eastern Michigan.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Gillen is positioned as the 1,282nd overall player in the country, the 94th best interior offensive lineman nationally, and the second top prospect in South Dakota. Specifically, 247Sports rates him as the 111th interior offensive lineman and the third best prospect in South Dakota.
Gillen becomes the second offensive lineman to commit to Texas Tech after his visit, joining Garin Maley, a three-star recruit from Nebraska. Patrick McMath, another three-star interior offensive lineman from Katy, TX, also recently committed after his official visit. These additions bring the Red Raiders’ total to three offensive linemen committed for the 2025 class, with plans to add one more.
