Buffalo Bills edge rusher Von Miller rushed back from a torn ACL last season, returning to the field around 10 months after the injury occurred on Thanksgiving Day in 2022.
Reflecting on his decision, Miller now admits he may have returned too soon. “I shouldn’t have been out there,” Miller told Pat Benson of SI.com.
Miller had a challenging season in 2023, marking a career low, but he is optimistic about bouncing back in the upcoming year. When asked about his main objective for the next season, Miller expressed his desire to return to his previous level of performance.
After signing a $120 million contract, Miller had a strong start to the 2022 season with 8.0 sacks and 21 tackles in 10 games before his injury. Despite missing the rest of that season and the beginning of 2023, he returned but struggled, making just three tackles in 12 games without any sacks.

Reflecting on the past year, Miller acknowledged the criticism he received and plans to channel it into motivation. “People judged me based on that, and it’s made me somewhat angry,” he admitted. “It’s pushing me to rediscover the player I used to be.”
Looking forward, Miller’s primary team goal is to secure Buffalo’s first Super Bowl victory. He praised the Bills’ fans and teammates, especially quarterback Josh Allen, whom he described as an exceptional person and player.
“I’m determined to bring a Super Bowl to Buffalo,” Miller affirmed. “Our fans and the community deserve it, and I’m committed to making it happen.”
