Rutgers Baseball has secured a notable recruit through the transfer portal.
Peyton Bonds, a New Jersey native and transfer from Campbell University, announced on Monday his decision to join Rutgers. Bonds, nephew of MLB legend Barry Bonds and grandson of Bobby Bonds, who enjoyed a 13-year career in Major League Baseball, hails from a distinguished baseball lineage. His father, Bobby Bonds II, also has experience in professional baseball.

After an impressive career at Franklin High School where he maintained a .429 average, Bonds had a standout year for Campbell in 2024. He achieved a slash line of .267/.341/.427 with five home runs, 21 RBIs, and 29 runs scored. Standing tall at 6-foot-5, Bonds showcased his versatility as an outfielder with a stellar .988 fielding percentage. Bonds appeared in 41 games, starting 36, and earned recognition on the CAA All-Rookie Team.
Bonds’ commitment marks the 12th addition to Rutgers’ roster this offseason, reinforcing their lineup with significant talent and potential.
