Virginia Tech football in the mix for 4-star safety Kendall Daniels.
Virginia Tech has shown strong recruiting prowess in the spring and early summer, particularly within the state of Virginia. Currently, 10 out of their 14 commitments in the Class of 2025 hail from the Commonwealth. Additionally, they are actively pursuing one of the top remaining prospects in the class.
Kendall Daniels, a highly regarded four-star safety from Norfolk, has narrowed his choices down to three schools: Virginia Tech, Clemson, and South Carolina. While Daniels is not rushing his decision, he intends to choose a school before the fall, and Virginia Tech remains a significant contender for his commitment.
Daniels had the opportunity to visit all three schools before the Dead Period, with a visit to Virginia Tech taking place from June 7-9. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 190 pounds, Daniels, who plays at Maury High School, shared his impressions of his visit to Blacksburg.
“Coach Brent Pry, coach Fontel Mines, and safeties coach Pierson Prioleau are establishing something significant in Blacksburg. Initially, I wasn’t sure what they were aiming for, but it’s clear they’re driven to avoid any hint of losing.”
Last fall, he played a pivotal role in Maury’s unbeaten 15-0 season, culminating in capturing the Virginia Class 5 state championship by outscoring opponents 864-152. Looking ahead to the Class of 2025, Virginia Tech has already secured commitments from safety Sheldon Robinson of Woodberry Forest and Knahlij Harrell from Virginia Beach. They’ve also secured commitments from linebackers Brett Clatterbaugh and Noah Chambers, edge rusher Sherrod Henderson, Zeke Chinwike, and defensive lineman Christian Evans.
Fontel Mines and head coach Brent Pry are assembling a highly talented recruiting class for the upcoming season. They recognized the importance of recruiting within Virginia to revitalize the program in Blacksburg, and their efforts are clearly paying off. It’s evident that they are fully invested in pursuing Daniels as well.
