Herget, who was acquired from the Angels on May 2 for cash, has made five appearances for the Braves, allowing three runs in 7 1⁄3 innings, primarily in mop-up situations. He was placed on the 15-day IL on June 8 due to shoulder inflammation.
Hernandez, recalled to the active roster on Thursday, pitched 38 pitches during Friday’s 8-4 loss to the Mets, allowing one hit, one run, and three walks in 1 1⁄3 innings. This was the first earned run Hernandez had given up all season in 10 appearances and 11 innings.
