Breaking: South Carolina Commit another talented sharp shooter to burst team spirit following..

South Carolina basketball commitment Eli Ellis will participate in the Under Armour Next Elite-24 Showcase this weekend.

This weekend, the Under Armour Next Elite-24 Showcase will feature 24 of the world’s top high school basketball prospects, providing them with opportunities to compete against other elite players, collaborate with current and former professionals, and attract the attention of scouts from colleges, the NBA, and other pro leagues. The event kicks off on August 10th, and among the participants will be a South Carolina basketball commitment eager to demonstrate his skills.

Eli Ellis, a 4-star guard committed to the Gamecocks for the class of 2025, is one of only 12 players from the 2025 class in the U.S. to be selected (with the other 12 being international recruits or players from the 2026, 2027, and 2028 classes). Ellis will be one of 11 guards competing.

Ellis is known for being one of the most dynamic scorers in the 2025 class. Despite his smaller stature—usually listed around 6’0″ or 6’1″—he compensates with exceptional ball-handling skills, a sharp shooting touch from long range, and impressive finishing ability despite his size disadvantage in the paint.

Although he primarily plays point guard in high school, Ellis has the versatility to play either guard position at the next level. His proficiency with the ball makes him a strong point guard, and he possesses excellent passing vision, particularly when driving. His ability to shoot effectively off the catch and his high basketball IQ also make him capable of thriving off-ball.

On the girls’ side of the Elite-24 Showcase, while there are no commitments from USC, several South Carolina basketball targets will be competing. Divine Bourrage and Zakiyah Johnson, both 5-star prospects from the class of 2025 who are strongly considering the Gamecocks, will be showcasing their talents in New York this weekend.
