Mohamed Ibrahim, a former Detroit Lions running back, has returned to the division, but he will not be wearing Honolulu Blue and Silver this time around. According to his agent, LAA (Loyalty Above All), Ibrahim will sign with the Minnesota Vikings. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Last week, NFL Insider Jordan Schultz stated that Ibrahim was “cleared for football activity and is fully healthy.”
Ibrahim’s signing with the Vikings will bring the 25-year-old running back back to familiar territory. He spent all five years of his collegiate career with the Minnesota Golden Gophers, where he accumulated 4,668 rushing yards and 53 touchdowns.

After not being selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, Ibrahim quickly signed a deal with the Lions after the draft’s conclusion. After battling some injuries in training camp, Ibrahim was placed on injured reserve toward the end of August and subsequently waived several days later.
Ibrahim re-signed to the Lions’ practice squad in mid-October ahead of their Week 7 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, for which he was elevated to the main roster. Unfortunately for him and the Lions, injuries once again derailed his contributions.
Against the Ravens, Ibrahim suffered a dislocated hip during a kickoff return in the third quarter and had to be carted off the field. The injury was so severe that it required emergency surgery, which prevented Ibrahim from traveling home with the team.
