Brent Pry gives update on Tucker Holloway
Football coach Brent Pry gave an update on wide receiver/punt returner Tucker Holloway to ESPN’s David Hale and it’s a good news/bad new scenario. Pry said that they are hopeful to use Holloway over the last four games of the season and preserve a redshirt season for him for 2025.

Holloway was an impactful returner for the Hokies, often shifting field position, but now Jaylin Lane will take on those responsibilities. Lane, who was among the top punt returners nationally at Middle Tennessee State before transferring to Virginia Tech, is expected to step into the role.
Stu Holt praised Lane in the spring, saying, “It’s fantastic to have Jaylen with us. He was a nationally ranked punt returner at his previous school and showed promise last year, including a return for a touchdown that was unfortunately called back. We’re really glad to have him on board.”
Women’s soccer visits Delaware
The Hokies women’s soccer team, currently ranked No. 21 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, aims to advance to 3-0 with a non-conference match against Delaware. The Hokies have already secured shutout victories over Campbell, 4-0, and James Madison, 2-0, on Sunday. This game is the second of three consecutive road matches for Tech, who will conclude this stretch with a game against Monmouth in New Jersey on Sunday afternoon.
Men’s soccer opens season at Thompson Field
The Hokies men’s soccer team will open the season Thursday night at home at Thompson Field against North Florida looking to have a better 2024 campaign than 2023.
