Approved in: Texas Tech Reveals another groundbreaking news…

Texas Tech women’s golf head coach JoJo Robertson announced on Tuesday that Anna Dong has joined her staff as the manager of sports operations. Dong, a Red Raider alumna, played under Robertson for five seasons and concluded her college career in 2023 by earning Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.

“We are thrilled to welcome Anna back to Texas Tech and our women’s golf program,” said Robertson. “She excelled both on the golf course and in the classroom during her time here, and she will serve as a fantastic role model for our student-athletes. I am eager to work closely with her!”

Dong, originally from Guangzhou, China, was an assistant coach for the SMU women’s golf team during the 2023-24 season. She played a key role in leading the Mustangs to an AAC Championship and a return to the NCAA postseason, where SMU finished tied for second in the NCAA Regional to advance to the NCAA Championships. The Mustangs ended the Championship at Omni La Costa in 24th place.

Before her coaching stint, Dong wrapped up her playing career with an NCAA Championship appearance, contributing to the Red Raiders’ third qualification to the championships since Robertson became head coach in 2009.

As Manager of Sports Operations, Dong will support day-to-day practice planning and implementation. Her extensive playing experience will also benefit the team through individualized coaching and skill development both in-season and off-season.
