Kansas State lands Brad Stanyer in 2025
Shortly after completing his official campus visit for the season opener against UT-Martin, recruiting target Brad Stanyer has verbally committed to Kansas State for the 2025 season.
Stanyer, a defensive lineman from Grapevine High School in the DFW Metroplex who has been somewhat overlooked, adds significant potential to the Wildcats’ roster. At 6 feet 5 inches and 240 pounds, his commitment is seen as a major coup for Kansas State, who view him as a valuable addition to their defensive lineup.
Receiving scholarship offers from Air Force, Army, and Texas State at the FBS level, the impressive Texan caught the eye of Buddy Wyatt and others during K-State’s Elite Camp on June 23rd. While the coaching staff continued to evaluate other prospects, Stanyer patiently waited about a month for his offer. By that time, Kansas State was actively pursuing him.
Quickly arranging another visit to the Little Apple and setting the stage for the pass-rusher to further impress before his senior film began circulating among colleges, Chris Klieman’s coaching staff and support team created an unforgettable weekend experience for the unrated edge rusher.

“I hadn’t felt anything like it before,” Stanyer shared with GPC after his game day experience at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. “I really got to be around the players and see what it’s like there.”
Already experienced in an odd-man front with his Grapevine High School Mustangs, Stanyer strengthens a recruiting class that includes another local edge rusher, Dalton Knapp, who previously attended Grapevine before transferring to All Saints Episcopal.
Stanyer, noted for his balanced pursuit skills and ability to handle run assignments, displays impressive bend for his size and notable power and strength, with significant potential for physical and mental development. Despite being unrated, Stanyer’s commitment is seen as both a promising prospect and a valuable addition to the team.
With Stanyer’s commitment, Kansas State has filled the final of their two immediate scholarship spots vacated by seniors Brendan Mott and Cody Stufflebean. GPC notes that Stanyer shares many similarities with another recent K-State recruit, Ryan Davis, who made a notable debut with 14 snaps while Stanyer was in attendance.
Kansas State’s 2025 recruiting class now totals 18 commitments. Once Stanyer is evaluated by 247Sports and other recruiting services, he is expected to maintain a position among the nation’s Top 50 prospects.
