Breaking: One of the Ex Veteran has accept the offer and Lands with another team

Sources have informed NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that free-agent kicker  Austin Seibert is set to join the Washington Commanders. This move comes swiftly after the Commanders parted ways with kicker Cade York on Monday afternoon.

York had a tough game on Sunday during the Commanders’ 37-20 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, missing field goals from 47 and 56 yards. His release opened the door for Seibert, who was available after being cut by the New York Jets in August, to sign with Washington.

Detroit Lions training camp 2022

Seibert, 27, may be well-known to Detroit Lions fans. After struggling with various kickers following Matt Prater’s exit after the 2020 season, the Lions acquired Seibert off waivers just before the 2021 season began.

Over his two seasons with Detroit, Seibert made 13 of 17 field goals and converted all 17 of his extra point attempts. However, in October 2022, the Lions waived the former Oklahoma standout to accommodate Michael Badgley.

In addition to the Lions, Jets, and now Commanders, Seibert has had stints with the Cleveland Browns—who selected him in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft—the Cincinnati Bengals, and the New Orleans Saints.
