The Baltimore Ravens have signed Chris Wormley, a former defensive lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Wormley was initially drafted by the Ravens in 2017 out of Michigan and played three seasons with them before being traded to the Steelers for a late-round pick.
At 30 years old, Wormley spent the entire 2023 season with the Carolina Panthers, starting on their practice squad before being promoted to the active roster after four weeks. He appeared in five games, recording one tackle.
Wormley’s standout season was in 2021 with the Steelers, where he started 14 games and achieved a career-high 7.5 sacks. However, his 2022 season was cut short due to a torn ACL, which also affected part of his 2023 campaign.
Having worked out for the Ravens recently, Wormley is expected to enhance the team’s run defense. The Ravens are currently 0-2 following a 26-23 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
