The USC Trojans kicked off September on a high note in recruiting. In just three weeks, Lincoln Riley and his team secured commitments from four promising prospects in the 2025 and 2026 classes: Ja’Myron Baker, Ty Jackson, Viliami Moala, and Jerome Myles.
This weekend, however, the Trojans will need a significant win to maintain their recruiting momentum as they travel to face Michigan in USC’s first-ever Big Ten game. Since they are on the road, there won’t be any opportunities to host high school prospects in Los Angeles, leading some USC targets to visit other campuses instead.
USC commit Shamar Arnoux, a 4-star safety from Carrollton, GA, is planning to visit Auburn this weekend for their game against Arkansas. Currently ranked as the No. 120 player overall and the No. 12 safety in the 2025 class, Arnoux is a prime target for Auburn, which is looking to shift his commitment from USC.
For the Tigers to boost their chances, they need a significant victory against Arkansas, especially if USC wins against Michigan. After suffering a loss to California earlier this season, Auburn must deliver a strong performance to impress Arnoux and entice him away from D’Anton Lynn and the USC staff.
After receiving an offer from USC on September 14, Mayde Creek (TX) edge rusher Tobi Haastrup is set to visit LSU this weekend. Located near Houston, Baton Rouge is an easily accessible destination for the sought-after recruit. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Haastrup is rated as the No. 276 overall prospect and the No. 21 edge rusher in the nation, making him a valuable target for the Trojans in the 2025 recruiting class. After defeating the Tigers in Week 1, USC could have an edge in Haastrup’s recruitment if they can bring the athletic defensive lineman to campus.
IMG Academy (FL) 5-star linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng recently named USC among his top six schools, but he will be on Michigan’s sideline when the Trojans face the Wolverines. Currently ranked as the No. 18 overall prospect and the No. 1 linebacker in the nation by Rivals, Owusu-Boateng is scheduled to visit Michigan on September 21 during the USC game in Ann Arbor.
Steve Wiltfong noted that this visit marks a return to campus for Owusu-Boateng, who has previously toured the school. He described his official visit in June as the highlight of his recruiting process. If USC can secure a win against Michigan with Owusu-Boateng present, their chances of recruiting the standout linebacker will significantly improve.
