LSU standout linebacker Harold Perkins injured his right knee in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s 34-17 win over UCLA in Baton Rouge.
Perkins, who was named a preseason All-America, was hurt while making a tackle and needed assistance to leave the field. He later walked to the locker room with trainers.
After the game, Tigers coach Brian Kelly mentioned that he was unsure about the severity of Perkins’ injury and likely wouldn’t have any updates until Monday.
“He’s injured,” Kelly stated. “We don’t have any details yet. We’ll conduct all the diagnostic tests tonight and tomorrow to get a clearer picture.”
The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Perkins was a freshman All-American in 2022, amassing 13 career sacks and seven forced fumbles. This season, he has 15 tackles and a fumble recovery but hasn’t recorded a sack yet.
LSU (3-1) will face South Alabama (2-2) at Tiger Stadium next Saturday, with kickoff set for 6:45 p.m. on the SEC Network.
