USC tight end Lake McRae received a critical injury update on Tuesday following his exit from Saturday’s Michigan game.
McRae took a hard hit during the third quarter of Saturday’s game and is reported to have suffered a knee injury. He will be sidelined for several weeks, but fortunately, head coach Lincoln Riley confirmed on Tuesday that the injury is not season-ending, according to USC football team reporter Keely Eure.
We hope Lake McRae has a smooth and effective recovery. The junior tight end is entering his fourth season with the Trojans in 2024. Last season, he recorded a collegiate career-high of 262 yards and one touchdown. In the early part of 2024, McRae has already accumulated 134 yards on 12 receptions.
USC may not have emerged victorious against the formidable Michigan football team, but their performance demonstrated that they can compete with the nation’s best. Head coach Lincoln Riley shared an insightful perspective on the team’s season following Saturday’s loss.
“We’re obviously disappointed,” Riley stated, according to Keely Eure. “But this season… there’s still a lot left in it.”
With their record now at 2-1, USC has ample opportunities to showcase their abilities, as Riley pointed out. Additionally, the Trojans remain in the AP Top 25, so there’s still reason for optimism.
