After the New York Giants started Week 4 with Thursday Night Football, they had a few extra days to observe the rest of the week’s action. One of the major headlines from Week 4 was the Kansas City Chiefs losing star wide receiver Rashee Rice to a knee injury during their game against the Los Angeles Chargers. With Rice likely sidelined for a significant period, the Chiefs find themselves thin on offensive options.
Could the Giants be anticipating a call from Brett Veach in the near future?
One NFL insider believes there’s potential to reignite trade talks between the Giants and Chiefs. NFL Network’s Peter Schrager mentioned some possible trade targets for Kansas City to replace Rashee Rice, and among the options was Giants’ second-year receiver Jalin Hyatt.
Schrager pointed out that it’s “at least worth calling on” a player like Hyatt, if he were trying to think like the Chiefs’ front office. This wouldn’t be the first time Kansas City sought help from the Giants, as they traded for former Giants first-round pick Kadarius Toney just two years ago.
We all know how that trade ultimately turned out. As for Hyatt, a possible deal involving the 2023 third-round pick wouldn’t be the first time he’s been involved in trade rumors during his young NFL career.
