The Pelicans have made a small adjustment to their 21-man training camp roster, announcing today that they have signed guard Adonis Arms and waived guard Izaiah Brockington.
Adonis Arms, 26, went undrafted from Texas Tech in 2022 and has been playing in the G League since then, spending his first two professional seasons with the Nuggets’ and Grizzlies’ affiliates. Last season with the Memphis Hustle, he appeared in 42 Showcase Cup and regular season games, averaging 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game, with shooting percentages of .458 from the field, .399 from three-point range, and .720 from the free-throw line.
Last month, the Birmingham Squadron announced they had acquired Arms’ returning rights from the Hustle in a five-team trade, indicating that the Pelicans likely intend to waive him before the season opener so he can return to the G League this fall. If Arms spends at least 60 days with the Squadron, he will qualify for an Exhibit 10 bonus of up to $77.5K.
Brockington is expected to follow a similar path. He signed an Exhibit 10 deal with New Orleans last week after playing for Birmingham during the 2023/24 season.
