Steve Pickell has landed his second commitment from a three-star point guard
Steve Pikiell has secured his second recruit from the Class of 2025, with three-star point guard Lino Mark committing to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights this evening.
“It felt like the best opportunity and fit for me,” said Mark about his decision. “From the start of their recruitment, they were genuine, and the love and hospitality they showed me were unmatched.”
Mark, a 6-foot-2 dynamic floor leader from Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame, selected Rutgers over Seton Hall, West Virginia, and USC. He made his decision following an official visit to the campus.
“In that visit, I spent a lot of time with the players,” Mark said in an interview last week. “I got to see how well I’d fit in and experience firsthand how they operate. They made it clear how much they wanted and needed me. On the first night, I just had a gut feeling that it was where I wanted to be.”
With Mark now committed, he joins three-star forward Gervonte Ware, pushing Rutgers into the top-25 recruiting classes nationwide. Pikiell’s staff will now focus on competing with Creighton, Colorado, Marquette, and West Virginia for Kelvin Odih’s commitment.
When talking about the program’s expectations, Mark described himself as a “high-motor freak athlete” who is eager to join the Scarlet Knights and give his all to help the team win.
Mark is currently ranked as the No. 23 point guard in the national 2025 class.
