The Buffalo Bills traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans for a second-round pick in 2025, meaning they won’t see a return from this deal for a year. As of Week 4, there hasn’t been a clear top receiver for Josh Allen, but the strategy of distributing passes among several targets has proven effective. Allen has thrown no interceptions this season and boasts an NFL-leading QBR of 82.3. However, the Bills could still benefit from an improved wide receiver if the right opportunity arises.
Recently, trade rumors surrounding Davante Adams have surfaced after the Las Vegas Raiders receiver expressed a desire for a new team. The Raiders have communicated their demands for trading the three-time All-Pro, with the New York Jets currently in the lead. However, until Adams is officially traded, any contending team could still have a shot at acquiring him. At 3-1, the Bills would be a strong candidate for the 31-year-old receiver.
According to Dianna Russini, the Bills might be a dark horse to land Adams before the NFL trade deadline on November 5, especially if the Raiders are open to covering part of his salary.
Buffalo Bills would pursue Davante Adams trade, if the price is right
“Keep in mind, money is a big factor for teams looking to trade for Davante Adam. He is owed $13.5M for the rest of the season. (That will drop by $970K per week.) This is why teams like the Chiefs aren’t (and can’t) go full throttle to land the star. Teams like Buffalo and Kansas City are all monitoring the situation and are more likely to get involved if the Raiders are willing to take on some of the money, per sources.”
As Russini notes, the longer teams like the Bills wait, the less expensive he gets. That doesn’t mean the Raiders’ asking price will deflate at all, in fact, it could increase as more teams jump into the competition.
