The Dallas Cowboys have ruled out their star pass rusher Micah Parsons for the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a high ankle sprain. Parsons sustained the injury during the Cowboys’ 20-15 victory over the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football. Alongside Parsons, leading wide receiver Brandin Cooks will also miss the game after undergoing knee surgery and experiencing an infection as a result of the procedure.
With Cooks sidelined, the Cowboys will rely on wide receivers Jalen Tolbert and Kavontae Turpin. Additionally, Ryan Flournoy will make his NFL debut. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones mentioned on Friday that Flournoy possesses some qualities reminiscent of ‘Dez Bryant.’
Cornerbacks Caelen Carson and Trevon Diggs are both listed as questionable. Carson was limited throughout the week, and head coach Mike McCarthy noted that he still needs to make progress to be ready for Sunday. Meanwhile, there’s optimism surrounding Diggs’ availability, as his absence from practice on Friday was merely precautionary. Additionally, linebacker Marist Liufau was added to the injury report on Friday due to a quad injury and is also questionable for the game against the Steelers.
