On Sunday afternoon, Oregon State secured its first commitment in over a month when 3-Star outside linebacker Logan Knapp from Clayton Valley, CA, changed his commitment from Wyoming to the Beavers.
Knapp received an offer from OSU last Sunday, and the recruiting team, led by Todd McShane and JR Moala, swiftly arranged for him to visit campus for an official visit. This took place just as the Beavers triumphed over Colorado State in a thrilling double overtime match, winning 39-31.
“The atmosphere was incredible. I enjoyed every moment.”For Knapp, the highlight of his visit was spending time in the locker room after the victory.
“Being in the locker room after the win was surreal.”He was also impressed by the hospitality of the OSU staff, which greatly influenced his decision.“The way the coaches treated my family and me really stood out.”
Knapp initially committed to Wyoming in June, despite offers from Washington State and San Diego State. However, the Beavers’ coaching staff was able to sway him, largely due to the culture fostered by Trent Bray.
“The culture of the program was the deciding factor for me, along with the coaches,” Knapp shared with BeaverBlitz.
At 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds, he has the versatility to play on both sides of the ball but will focus on outside linebacker.
Defensive line coach Ilaisa Tuiaki played a key role in Knapp’s recruitment, developing a strong connection with him.
“It’s been great; we’ve been talking quite a bit.”
Knapp is Oregon State’s seventh commitment on the defensive side and the 13th overall for the class of 2025, joining Jesse Myers as an EDGE recruit for the Beavers.
