The Los Angeles Lakers face long odds of making a championship run this season with the same roster that was eliminated in five games during the first round of last year’s NBA playoffs.
However, Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey proposed a major three-team trade that could provide the Lakers with a third star while keeping Austin Reaves. This trade idea aims to create a formidable quartet to maximize LeBron James’ remaining years in the NBA and potentially secure him a fifth ring, tying him with Kobe Bryant.
**Trade Proposal:**
– **Los Angeles Lakers Receive:** Zach LaVine and Antonio Reeves
In this proposed trade:
**Chicago Bulls Receive:** Brandon Ingram, D’Angelo Russell, Jalen Hood-Schifino, a 2029 first-round pick (from Los Angeles), and a 2031 first-round pick (from Los Angeles).
**New Orleans Pelicans Receive:** Rui Hachimura, Chris Duarte, Cam Reddish, Jaxson Hayes, and a 2031 first-round pick (from Chicago).
While the price may seem steep, as the Lakers would be sacrificing much of their remaining draft assets, LaVine is expected to offer a stronger and more reliable scoring presence than L.A.’s recent third-leading scorer, D’Angelo Russell, according to Bailey.
