The Buffalo Bills remain in first place in the AFC East, despite entering Week 6 with a two-game losing streak as they prepare for a crucial “Monday Night Football” game against the New York Jets.
With the Jets already showing signs of instability after firing head coach Robert Saleh, this presents a chance for the Bills to make a strong statement and establish some distance in the AFC East—especially if running back James Cook is able to play.
ESPN insider Adam Schefter is reporting that Cook will practice despite his toe injury and plans to play, which is great news for Bills fans.

There was some cause for concern after Cook didn’t suit up for practice earlier in the week, but with the extra day of preparation, it appears the Bills were just playing things safe with the Pro Bowler.
Cook is off to a strong start to the season with 309 rushing yards through five games, and his four rushing touchdowns already equal his combined output from his first two years in the league.
He is coming off a strong performance in a Week 5 loss to the Houston Texans, when he had a season-high 20 carries and 82 yards on the ground.
Cook’s injury isn’t seen as a major concern, so it seems fans can feel optimistic heading into the game.
A victory would allow the Bills to establish a comfortable two-game lead in the division.
