Although the Dallas Cowboys haven’t achieved the success they hoped for on the field, Dak Prescott has been scoring big wins in his personal life.
From welcoming a daughter to becoming the NFL’s highest-paid player, Prescott is embracing another major milestone—marriage. During the Cowboys’ bye week, Prescott proposed to his girlfriend, Sarah Jane, while at the golf course.
“Mine Forever!!!! The best friend, partner, teammate, mother, and now fiancé I could ever ask or pray for,” Prescott shared in his social media announcement.
After practice today, Dak Prescott shared with reporters the story behind his engagement plans.
“I’m super excited,” Prescott said. “I’ve known for a while…I got the ring a few months ago. She had no idea. She’s a big golfer and thought we were just going golfing. I told her we have a lifetime to golf.”
Prescott revealed he hid the ring inside a fake golf ball, which he dropped on the green—one that his fiancée, Sarah Jane, nearly hit before discovering the surprise.
“I’m just glad she said yes. I feel incredibly blessed and happy, grateful for this family I’ve started.”
With this major milestone complete, Prescott now faces another big challenge on “Sunday Night Football” as the Cowboys take on their historic rival, the San Francisco 49ers. Like the Cowboys, the Niners are coming off a loss and dealing with a series of injuries. Fortunately for Dallas, it’s an away game—where the team has often played its best football.
Heading into the matchup, Prescott has recorded 1,602 passing yards (10th in the league), with eight touchdowns and six interceptions. The Cowboys aim to improve to 4-0 on the road.
