Iowa State football accepted the commitment of Sione Perkins in the 2025 recruiting class on Sunday evening.
On Sunday night, Iowa State football secured the commitment of Sione Perkins, an offensive tackle from Eagle, Idaho.
“I am grateful and humbled to announce my commitment,” Perkins shared on Twitter/X.
Perkins’ recruitment progressed rapidly; the Cyclones extended a scholarship offer on Thursday, and he confirmed his commitment just a few days later.
He chose Iowa State over offers from Idaho, Eastern Washington, and Montana, with Boise State also showing interest.
Perkins marks the third commitment for Iowa State coach Matt Campbell this fall. Earlier, the Cyclones added Northern Illinois commitments LaMarcus Hicks, a defensive back, and Dyllan Malone, a receiver, both from Illinois.
This commitment helps Iowa State fill the gap left by Jack Shaffer, who switched his commitment from ISU to Washington earlier in the fall. With Perkins, ISU now has two offensive tackles committed for the 2025 recruiting class, alongside Will Tomkins from Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Perkins is the 15th prospect to commit to Iowa State for the 2025 class. The Cyclones currently hold a top 60 national ranking in recruiting, as per 247Sports. His commitment, along with a recent update in rankings, has elevated Iowa State to 12th in the Big 12 class rankings, with an average star rating of 86.41.
