According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, safety Mike Edwards is seeking a trade from the Bills to find a team where he can have more playing time. Fowler noted, “Veteran Buffalo safety Mike Edwards is up for trade and hopes to move to a team where he can play more, as he has been regularly inactive.
” Edwards has already won two Super Bowl rings, having triumphed in Super Bowl 55 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Super Bowl 58 with the Kansas City Chiefs last season.
Edwards signed a one-year, $2.8 million contract with the Bills in March, as reported by Spotrac. The former third-round draft pick of the Buccaneers has played in 78 games and started 26 of them.
At 28 years old, he has participated in only three of the Bills’ eight games this season, with seven defensive snaps and 13 on special teams. Over his career, Edwards has tallied 236 tackles, three sacks, 26 passes defended, and eight interceptions.
