Major Breaking: Braves Bold Move Lands Home Another Top-Notch Veteran To Boost Their Corps Of Players

On Thursday, the Atlanta Braves appointed Tim Hyers as their new hitting coach following adjustments to manager Brian Snitker’s staff.

The 53-year-old Hyers joins the Braves after serving as the hitting coach for the Texas Rangers for the past three seasons, where he was part of the team that won the World Series in 2023.

Hyers replaces Kevin Seitzer, who was one of three coaches dismissed by Atlanta after a season marked by injuries concluded with a two-game sweep by the San Diego Padres in the NL Wild Card Series.

Seitzer had served as the hitting coach for 10 years. The Braves also let go of assistant hitting coach Bobby Magallanes and catching coach Sal Fasano.

Hyers previously served as the hitting coach for the Boston Red Sox from 2018 to 2021, and prior to that, he was the assistant hitting coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers for two years. Throughout his career, he has coached a dozen Silver Slugger award winners.

Hyers, a native of Atlanta, played as a first baseman and outfielder in 133 major league games over four seasons with the San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, and Miami Marlins.er
